An amish love

An Amish Love, published by Thomas Nelson, Nashville, 2010, is a collection of three short novels. Their titles are: A Marriage of the Heart, by Kelly Long; What the Heart Sees, by Kathleen Fuller; and Healing Hearts, by Beth Wiseman. Each novella portrays its characters genuinely and personably.

I was delighted when this book arrived and contained not one but three novellas. I started reading and I was instantly hooked.
I loved how three different authors came together to write a book. The book is a Amish fiction is not something that I read regularly, but I do enjoy a good story, and these three are very good stories.

I would definitely recommend this book!.

Never Let you Go by Erin Healy

Never Let You Go by Erin Healy is truly a story that will keep you hanging in there until you finish it.
Seven years ago, Lexi Solomon’s world fell apart. Her husband abandoned her and her young daughter Molly, her sister was murdered, and her father had a mental breakdown. Now, her husband has returned and wants to establish a relationship with Molly, the man who murdered her sister is up for parole, and the forces of evil have come to collect for her past sins. Lexi must fight to protect the one thing that means anything to her – Molly.
Overall, I think Never Let You Go is a very good book and the suspense, drama certainly make up for the parts of the book I did not care for.
I honestly didn't expect to enjoy it but I definitely did. It was a gripping read! It was intense, mysterious, and filled with spooky themes. I wasn't sure what was going to happen from one page to the next.

God's Promises for Boys by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker

I really enjoyed this book! As a parent of a one year old, I know in a few years the questions will be coming. I think this book will be very healpful.

This little book of scripture promises is a fantastic resource to have on hand when their little one are facing struggles or just have questions. It is easy to read and understand.

There is a table of contents so that children can easily find what they are looking for. There are many different subjects that pertain to a young boys life. Each subject has several bible verses to implement that part of the book. There are also cute pictures throughout the book to peak your child interest.

I think this is a must have book.

Classic Wisdom of the Professional Life

This book is a compilation of quotes all centered on the concept of success.
These quotes come from a wide variety of realiable souces. Political figures, entertainement figures, sports figures and entrepreneurial figures.

If you are someone who like quotes from famous persons, then you will like this book.

If you ever look for quotes to use in presentations about leadership, this book can be a valuable resouce. It's a good reference to give a little boost of encouragement as you lead a team, and a good inspiration to yourself through the day.

One of my favourites: "Leadership is action, not position" - Donald H. Mcgannon

This book would be a great gift.

Rick and Bubba’s Big Honkin’ Book of Grub

I had the chance to review Rick & Bubba's Big Honkin's book of Grub by Rick Burgess and Bill 'Bubba" Bussey.
If there is anyhting you want to know about food, you will more likely find it in this book.
This book is not a cookbook but a comical view of the world of dieting.
To be honest, I was expecting it to be more a cookbook, and while it does have a few recipes throughout; it is more about their take on food.
If you are looking for a traditional cookbook, I would not recommend buying this book.
Rick and Bubba are my type of people. They love food and they love eating it.
This book is easy to read; large print.
I enjoyed reading this book; laughed at their "top ten" lists, especially the "Rick and Bubba's Weight Loss tips".
I would recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humour.

The Story of Easter

I read the Story of Easter, retold by Gwen Ellis and illustrated by Steve Smallman.
This is a children's book, and includes a DVD with short videos related to the story of Easter, coloring pages and trailers like "Hermies and Friends "Skeeters"".

The book is based on the story of Easter as told in the Bible. Each scene in the story is referenced by the passage in the Bible that it can be found.

It's a wonderful book that explains the truths of Christ's last days on the Earth in a way easily understood by younger children.

I was surprise at the level of detail that was included in such a simple book.

I liked how this book was clear in presenting the message it intended. The illustrations are colorful and pull the reader into the story; to capture so much emotion on simple cartoon characters.

I would definetely recommend this book. What a great book to share with your young ones/

A Century turns: New Hopes, New Fears

I highly recommend this book. The author Willliam Bennet is a fantastic writer. As soon as I started reading this book, I was hooked and was difficult to put the book down; wanted to read more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, even more than I first thought.
A very well written book and quick read.

This book is about 20 years of history from 1988 to 2008 of the United States. Not just politics, but everything significant that happened; some of the greatest change in history. A much more interesting time period that I had initially thought.

Mr Bennett has included details that many may have forgotten, and he presents the information in a well organized and easy to follow format.

America has gone through a lot of these past twenty years. I never paid much attention to the news and politics so thsi book was very interesting for me to read about history, and bring me up to speed and better understand as to how we got to wherewe are today.
