Rick and Bubba’s Big Honkin’ Book of Grub

I had the chance to review Rick & Bubba's Big Honkin's book of Grub by Rick Burgess and Bill 'Bubba" Bussey.
If there is anyhting you want to know about food, you will more likely find it in this book.
This book is not a cookbook but a comical view of the world of dieting.
To be honest, I was expecting it to be more a cookbook, and while it does have a few recipes throughout; it is more about their take on food.
If you are looking for a traditional cookbook, I would not recommend buying this book.
Rick and Bubba are my type of people. They love food and they love eating it.
This book is easy to read; large print.
I enjoyed reading this book; laughed at their "top ten" lists, especially the "Rick and Bubba's Weight Loss tips".
I would recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humour.

The Story of Easter

I read the Story of Easter, retold by Gwen Ellis and illustrated by Steve Smallman.
This is a children's book, and includes a DVD with short videos related to the story of Easter, coloring pages and trailers like "Hermies and Friends "Skeeters"".

The book is based on the story of Easter as told in the Bible. Each scene in the story is referenced by the passage in the Bible that it can be found.

It's a wonderful book that explains the truths of Christ's last days on the Earth in a way easily understood by younger children.

I was surprise at the level of detail that was included in such a simple book.

I liked how this book was clear in presenting the message it intended. The illustrations are colorful and pull the reader into the story; to capture so much emotion on simple cartoon characters.

I would definetely recommend this book. What a great book to share with your young ones/

A Century turns: New Hopes, New Fears

I highly recommend this book. The author Willliam Bennet is a fantastic writer. As soon as I started reading this book, I was hooked and was difficult to put the book down; wanted to read more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, even more than I first thought.
A very well written book and quick read.

This book is about 20 years of history from 1988 to 2008 of the United States. Not just politics, but everything significant that happened; some of the greatest change in history. A much more interesting time period that I had initially thought.

Mr Bennett has included details that many may have forgotten, and he presents the information in a well organized and easy to follow format.

America has gone through a lot of these past twenty years. I never paid much attention to the news and politics so thsi book was very interesting for me to read about history, and bring me up to speed and better understand as to how we got to wherewe are today.
